compenswiss is an independent public law institution of the Confederation based in Geneva. It has its own legal personality, keeps its own accounts and is entered in the commercial register. The institution is in charge of managing the social security funds for old-age and survivors’ insurance (OASI), for invalidity insurance (InvI) and for the loss of earnings compensation scheme (LEC). It must retain sufficient liquidity at all times to guarantee payment of the benefits of the three social security schemes and manage the assets in such a way as to ensure the best possible relationship between security and achieving a return consistent with market conditions.
